Delhi Chess Association

Delhi Chess Association a registered association established in 1973 for the promotion and development of Chess in Delhi and affiliated to All India Chess Federation. The Delhi Chess Association is a non-profit organization committed to the cause of the development of the game of chess in the National Capital as well as other parts of the country.

The association had a rich experience in chess related activities and successfully conducted more than hundred International and National tournaments including World Championships, Commonwealth Chess Championships, Asian Championships, International norm tournaments and various National Championships.

Delhi has great prospectus in Chess. The world second youngest Grandmaster Parimarjan Negi, Grandmaster Abhijeet Gupta, former World Junior Champion and current Commonwealth Champion, Tania Sachdev, Arjuna Awardee, who is twice national champion, once Asian champion, Sriram Jha, Vaibhav Suri, Aryan Chopra and Sahaj Grover, the Grandmasters from Delhi. Youngsters like Prithu Gupta, Prince Bajaj, Hemant Sharma who are recently awarded with International Master titles making the list bigger day by day.

The main catalyst for this achievements are the enormous support rendered by chess loving people and corporate organizations like Parsvnath Developers, Triveni Engineering Ltd, LNJ Bhilwara Group, Amity, ONGC, Airport Authority of India,Takshila education society etc

 

The main aim of Delhi Chess Association is to produce more Grandmasters and International Masters from the National Capital along with promotion of chess at grass root level. .
